I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism, specializing in editing & graphic design, and English with a minor in information systems. As a child, I found that my favorite thing to do was to curl up with a good book and experience the lives led by each character. I started my journey in the publishing world, where I learned that even the best books (and products for that matter) need a way to reach the world—so I entered the world of social media. I hope to continue telling stories and building online brands for companies. To learn more about my professional background, please view my résumé.
When I’m not at work or reading a book, I spend the majority of my time with my dog, Willow, a local rescue or traveling on the weekends. I grew up in a household full of pets (you name it; I’ve probably owned it). As a young girl, the first job I ever applied for was at the vet up the street from my house. Although I sent in my resume and a very sweet cover letter, I was politely informed that it was illegal to hire someone at the age of twelve. I didn’t let that rejection get me low. Instead, I chose to spend my extra time volunteering with rescue organizations (however, I did get to spend a few months working at a vet, and it was everything I dreamed it could be and more). I find it empowering to give a voice to those who do not have one. I hope to one day be able to get more involved with rescues organizations.
